Let that Magic Back In

I am 43 years old and currently, without any shame at all, I am being guided through my day to day life by a 4-year-old sassy cutie patootie who has become my Yogi/Guru/Sensei/Super Soul Sunday Episode/Iyanla Fix My Life all in one.

My best friend Porsha has been sending me pictures of her brother's cute girls for months now. her lil brother who I remember being a 5-year kid when we were in college.  Talk about an entire head trip. Shout out to Nemo for one my favorite songs. Porsha sent a video a couple of weeks ago of a wonder child dancing her lil heart out and I haven't gotten enough of her since.

Her name is ZaZa and she is quite the fireball and very expressive dancer. The video Porsha sent me is of ZaZa asking for her jam to be played with her singing a few lines and asking if her parent remembers the song so they can play it. Her lil voice asks, "Member? I got that water BOOM BOOM." The beat drops and ZaZa's little body comes alive and the rest is internet viral history.

/She's got that water

Dancing and all rhythmic things are not my Ministry at all so watching anyone who can move their body to the beat is beyond delightful for me.  I watched the video daily to get my day going and to catch some of Zaza's infectious magic.

ZaZa transformed into my Yogi/Guru/Sensei/Super Soul Sunday Episode/Iyanla Fix My Life the day her Dad discusses her new fame with her.  He recounts how they went out to eat and ZaZa is recognized as the dancing girl from the video.  ZaZa ever so confidently says, " They asked are you that girl and I said YEAH I AM!"  Lil mama crosses her lil legs and knows EXACTLY what she speaks of.  I was sold! ZaZa can sell me anything from henceforth.

Dear Internet Aunties and Internet Uncles, hell Internet Grandmas and Internet Grandpas we MUST protect ZaZa at all costs.  May she forever be in charge of her thoughts and may she forever know who she is and what she wants. May the world NEVER rob her of her infectious happiness. May she dance like no one is watching and everyone is watching at the same time for the rest of her life.  May she grow up to have the sharp tongue of Angela Rye and Crissle, the Queen quality of Beyonce, the business savvy of Oprah, and may she forever be as relatable as Cardi B.

And in the process of protecting her, may we remember the "yeah I am" magic within ourselves and call it back to us.  ZaZa already asked us, "Member?"

It's high time we do!
